CostCatch Request a Demo
Setup guide · for data engineers

Set up CostCatch in four steps.

Most of it happens in Snowsight and the app's own setup wizard. Plan on about 15 minutes. API vendors show data on the first run, and file exports like AWS and Azure can take a day or two to arrive.

Before you start
  • ACCOUNTADMIN, or a role that can grant account privileges
  • A warehouse to run refreshes, or let the app create a small auto-suspending one
  • Admin access to each vendor's console you're connecting
  1. 01

    Install from Marketplace

In Snowsight, open Marketplace, search for CostCatch, and click Get. It installs straight into your account.

    Snowsight › Marketplace › CostCatch › Get
    Open the Marketplace listing
  2. 02

    Approve privileges

Snowsight shows a consent screen listing exactly what the app can do in your account. Click Grant. Your admin can revoke it at any time.

  3. 03

    Connect your vendors

Open CostCatch in Snowsight and add a connection for each vendor: an API key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Cursor and OpenRouter, or the billing export for AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. The setup wizard generates the Snowflake SQL, pre-filled for your account, and keys are saved as Snowflake Secrets. Start with one vendor if you like.

  4. 04

    Give finance access

Grant the app's read-only role to the roles that will report on the data. Their BI tools can then query it over their existing Snowflake connection.

    GRANT APPLICATION ROLE cost_catch.app_user
      TO ROLE finance_analyst;

That's it. Refreshes run on their own from here.
